Originally built for the United States agency NOAA (National Oceanographic & Atmospheric Administration), in 2002 the M/V Ushuaia was refurbished to accommodate a maximum of 66 passengers in 33 compfortable twin cabins and suites. The vessel was fitted with the latest state-of-the-art navigation and communication equipment for Antarctic expeditions.
This ice-strengthened polar vessel is well-appointed, provides ample deck space, and has an open bridge policy. The full complment of inflatable landing vessels ensure superb landings and wildlife viewing opportunities on the otherwise inaccessible coastline.
Public areas include a large dining room, an observation lounge and bar, a conference room with modern multimedia equipment, a well-stocked library, a changing room and a small infirmary.

All cabins include a desk and ample storage space.
Note: Semi-private facilities are one shared bathroom between two cabins. Each bathroom can be
accessed directly from the cabin.
